Meet Aurora
Social impact and fund development consultant partnering with change-making leaders of color, their power building organizations, and the philanthropic groups that trust and support them.
Aurora Colindres (She/Her/Ella) founded Power for Good Consulting
with a heart for liberation.
As a fundraising leader for 20 years, she has been a partner to social justice organizations and the foundations and donors that fuel them. Born in Panama and raised in Florida, her undocumented reality as a youth sparked her activism. Later moving to Los Angeles, she built up a nonprofit fundraising career by helping advance the work of organizations committed to unhoused services, anti-poverty policy, green park equity, and immigrant rights. Her expertise and philanthropic relationships led her to establish a consulting practice that seeks to build capacity for power-building BIPOC-led groups. Aurora also bridges the social impact sector by engaging philanthopy and insisting on trust-based giving for the movement.
She is an accomplished development professional, strategic planning coach, facilitator, and speaker whose work has been featured in the book ‘Fundraising for Social Change.’ As a culture curator she hosts the panel series: Tracing the Lines – Where the issues meet the arts and curates The Reset, a community gathering centering arts and healing for justice leaders. She is part of the Colmena Consulting Cooperative and an active member of HIP, EPIP, Consultants for Good, Constellation and a Blackbaud Fellow. Aurora is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she received a BSBA in Marketing and International Business. She is a dancer, beach lover, and proud Tia of 6. Her motto is Each One, Teach One.
“We have had to love in order to live; love has been our survival.”
